Senior Manager, Distribution Center

Work Schedule : Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions : Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Warehouse

The Senior Manager, Distribution Center, is responsible for leading the distribution center to achieve financial and efficiency goals while encouraging a culture of integrity, intensity, innovation, and involvement. This role leads all aspects of the hiring, training, development, and coaching of staff to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.

A Day in the Life

  • Lead the distribution center to achieve annual financial and efficiency goals.
  • Cultivate a culture based on our core values : Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement, promoting open communication.
  • Hire, train, develop, and mentor staff to excel in their roles.
  • Partner with senior management to maintain annual budget targets.
  • Manage costs and budgets to meet annual operating targets.
  • Investigate process and product failures, and safety incidents, implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies for productivity and efficiency.
  • Lead a team of salaried and hourly employees to achieve logistics excellence and delight customers.
  • Champion communication within the distribution center and with other departments.
  • Drive achievement of metrics aligned with goals.
  • Handle increased problems and develop tools for team problem-solving.
  • Mentor and coach internal employees, promoting leadership development.
  • Provide opportunities for cross-training and career development.
  • Empower workers to achieve their goals.
  • Promote a safety-first culture, partnering with EHandS to improve safety procedures and metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Act as a safety steward by reporting near misses and attending safety trainings.
  • Maintain a safe work environment through continuous safety awareness and compliance with EHandS programs.

Keys to Success

Education : Bachelors degree required. Experience : 8+ years of proven Sr Management experience leading Managers and Supervisors - Distribution operations knowledge and experience - Validated Strategic and Tactical Planning - Continuous improvement, process implementation, succession planning - Proven experience as a people leader.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and change.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of MRP and WMS systems.
  • Familiarity with MSDS for relevant products.

  • Ability to sustain a lean environment.
  • Positive demeanor towards job and colleagues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-paced and stressful situations.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods, and work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.

    Compensation and Benefits

    The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $110,500.00-$165,700.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and / or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
