Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Support Specialist to provide exceptional administrative and operational support to a designated group of BID sales teams. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for sales representatives, customers, and internal partners, ensuring seamless order management, outstanding service, and timely resolution of inquiries. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, impeccable accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

A day in the life :

  • Manage all administrative functions for assigned BID sales teams, including :
  • Order entry
  • Complaint resolution
  • Backorder and open order management, including proactive customer communication and alternative SKU recommendations
  • Quote and order research and resolution
  • Acting as liaison between sales / customers and internal teams such as Triage, Ecom, B2B, CAM, Product Management, Technical Support, Customs, Credit & Collections, Service, Price Maintenance, and other divisions
  • New representative onboarding
  • Respond promptly and professionally to incoming telephone and email inquiries and orders from Sales Representatives.
  • Proactively organize and lead internal and external conference calls via WebEx to address and resolve customer or sales-related issues.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to support front-line sales representatives in their daily activities.
  • Ensure adherence to company and departmental goals and performance standards.
  • Prepare and provide all necessary documentation required to meet shipping and compliance requirements (e.g., Material Safety Data Sheets, Certificates of Analysis, custom order documentation).

Keys to success : Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a scientific field preferred.
  • Experience :

  • 2+ years of related customer service experience, including order entry systems and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated judgment, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with internal and external stakeholders; ability to handle confidential or proprietary information.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience working on complex assignments, requiring strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills, initiative, and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong working knowledge of systems and tools relevant to Customer Service and Sales Operations.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours as needed; some holiday coverage may be required.

    Compensation and benefits :

    The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $20.93$31.40. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and / or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
