Group Fitness Instructor

Reports to : Group Fitness Lead
About the Role
The Beaverton Hoop YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Group Fitness Instructor specialized in YOGA and or Cycle to join our Healthy Living team. In this role, you’ll lead dynamic group fitness classes that inspire, challenge, and support our members in reaching their wellness goals.
You’ll be part of a community-driven organization that’s passionate about healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development. If you love teaching, building relationships, and creating a welcoming fitness environment for all levels, we want to meet you!
Requirements : What You’ll Do
- Teach engaging group fitness classes consistently and professionally
- Provide safe and effective instruction with proper modifications
- Help foster an inclusive, welcoming space for participants of all levels
- Prepare and maintain class music, structure, and equipment
- Arrive early to greet members and stay after class for cleanup and member support
- Promote other YMCA programs and events when appropriate
- Attend required staff meetings and trainings
- Maintain all necessary certifications and stay current with continuing education
- Follow YMCA guidelines, values, and safety standards

Nationally recognized group fitness certification (required)Certification in one or more formats preferred :Barre, Cycle, Yoga, Pilates, HIIT, Kickboxing, Dance Fitness, Active Aging, Tai Chi
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)Must pass a YMCA background checkBasic proficiency with audio equipment, music systems, and mobile techAt least 2 years of experience teaching group fitness (preferred)Why Work at the Y?
