The Indianapolis Healthy Start (IHS) Clinical Coordinator position enables IHS to expand its capacity to provide direct access to well woman care and maternity care services to reduce barriers and help address health disparities among high risk and underserved women. The position allows for oversight and direct access to integrative medical and psychiatric services for all program participants. The clinical coordinator is responsible for ensuring the highest risk and underserved program participants receive comprehensive wrap around services to prevent obstetric emergencies and works to address maternal mortality in our community. The Clinical Coordinator will supervise the Fatherhood Engagement Clinician position, to ensure male program participants receive comprehensive wrap around case management and clinical services to assist in addressing the public health crisis of maternal mortality in our community. The Clinical Coordinator will work alongside the management staff to identify the program participants who score over 12 on the Edinburgh Depression screen to ensure they become connected to comprehensive medical care, which also includes counseling and psychiatric services. Monitoring and assessment of the Clinical Coordinator’s implementation of Circle of Security intervention will be accomplished by review by a licensed Medical and / or Psychiatric Provider who will discuss referrals made to the IHS Clinical Coordinator and processes implemented to assure that interventions are being made to accomplish the delivery of comprehensive medical care and behavioral health and well-being care. Additionally, review of active cases will occur to ensure that the best therapeutic care is provided for each program participant’s circumstances (domestic violence, chronic mental illness, and suicidal ideation) etc.
Qualifications
Advanced degree required. Master’s Degree in the following : Marriage & Family Therapy, Human Development, Social Relations, Women’s Studies, Social Work, Nursing, Psychiatry or other Behavior Health related field.
1-3 years’ experience as a Case Manager, Family Therapist, Behavior Health Counselor, or Clinical Social Worker
