Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU / Oncology position requiring oncology and Stepdown / PCU experience with the ability to float to advanced care units.
Responsibilities
Position is based on a 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit with mixed acuity including Med / Surg and advanced care patientsOncology and hematology patient population with frequent administration of blood products and chemotherapyPatient ratios typically 1 : 4, but may be up to 1 : 5-6Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19 : 00 to 07 : 30)Must be able to float to all Stepdown / Advanced Care units and may be required to float between campuses within a 15-mile radiusEPIC charting experience requiredNo block scheduling availableWill provide nursing care to oncology, hematology, and advanced care patients, administering blood products, chemotherapy, and managing wounds and PCAsFloating will occur as directed, with travelers first to float and may include supporting high-risk respiratory or COVID unitsRNs administer chemotherapy if ONS certifiedEvery other weekend and holiday shifts are requiredScrub color is navy blueNo RTO (requested time off) will be approved after offer; all requests must be submitted with initial applicationRequirements
Active OH or compact RN license requiredMinimum 1.5 years of Stepdown or PCU experience; ICU experience does not countDocumented experience managing a 1 : 5 nurse-to-patient ratio in work historyBLS and ACLS certifications requiredMust be able to pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessmentAbility to read and interpret cardiac monitor stripsOncology nursing experience required; sickle cell experience and chemotherapy certification preferred but not requiredExperience using EPIC EMR requiredMust be fitted for N95 or PAPR prior to working in high-risk respiratory unitsTravel experience and Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferredLocal candidates within a 50-mile radius are not eligibleBenefits
