Sr. Flight Software Verification Engineer

FLYTE has partnered with a pioneering California aerospace company on a mission to transform aviation safety through innovative automation systems, making flight safer, more efficient, and more accessible. With a certification-driven approach, theyve already demonstrated fully automated cargo aircraft operations and are now advancing FAA and DoD certification.

Theyre seeking an experienced Software Verification Specialist to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of DO-178C compliant verification and validation processes for flight-critical systems.

Youll be responsible for establishing and leading the verification and validation (V&V) framework for software meeting Design Assurance Level DAL A / B under DO-178C.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering teams, certification authorities, and FAA representatives to drive the approval of Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for their advanced aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of DO-178C-compliant software verification processes for safety-critical systems.
• Define verification strategies, test plans, and traceability matrices for DAL A / B software.
• Manage software reviews, static analysis, requirements-based testing, and test environment qualification.
• Collaborate with FAA representatives to ensure alignment with certification requirements and successful STC approval.
• Provide technical leadership to the verification team and ensure compliance across multiple software baselines.
• Drive continuous improvement of verification processes, tools, and documentation practices.
• Mentor engineers and promote a culture of rigorous engineering discipline and certification excellence.

They are open to remote working with 10 / 20% travel to site.
