We are seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to join our leadership team, bringing vision, expertise, and a passion for quality care to further our mission of providing exceptional service to our residents. As the CNO , you will play a key role in overseeing the nursing department, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and working collaboratively with the Administrator to drive strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide visionary leadership to the nursing team, establishing a culture of professionalism, respect, and accountability
- Mentor, coach, and develop nurse managers, supervisors, and front-line nursing staff, driving high engagement, retention, and performance
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement staffing plans that maintain optimal nurse-to-resident ratios while balancing budget constraints and quality care standards
- Promote continuous learning and growth by assessing staff development needs and delivering tailored education and training programs
- Foster an environment where nursing staff feel supported, empowered, and motivated to deliver exceptional care
Clinical Excellence & Quality Care
Ensure residents receive person-centered, evidence-based care that promotes their physical, mental, and emotional well-beingRegularly monitor clinical outcomes and analyze trends to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies that drive superior care and safetyLead care planning initiatives to ensure individualized and comprehensive care that meets the unique needs and preferences of each residentSpearhead quality assurance initiatives, proactively addressing deficiencies and implementing corrective actions to enhance care delivery and outcomesPromote a culture of safety and best practices within the nursing department, consistently ensuring high-quality, compassionate care for every residentRegulatory Compliance & Safety
Maintain ongoing readiness for regulatory surveys by ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing skilled nursing facilitiesLead the development and implementation of policies and procedures that align with current industry standards and best practices, ensuring safety and complianceConduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures as neededInvestigate incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and create and implement plans to mitigate future risks and prevent reoccurrenceEnsure all nursing practices adhere to regulatory standards while consistently focusing on resident safety, privacy, and dignityCollaboration & Communication
Act as a key liaison between residents, families, physicians, and facility leadership, ensuring transparent, timely, and effective communicationCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated care that addresses the full spectrum of resident needsAdvocate for residents, ensuring their voices are heard in care planning and decision-making processesBuild and maintain strong relationships across departments, promoting a team-based approach to care that enhances service delivery and resident satisfactionLead interdisciplinary care conferences, ensuring all team members are aligned with the resident's goals and care plansOperational & Financial Leadership
Assist in the development of the nursing department budget and monitor expenditures to ensure the effective use of resources while maintaining quality careImplement cost-effective strategies and ensure that financial decisions are made with an owners mindset, without compromising resident care or safetyOversee the selection, management, and efficient use of clinical supplies, equipment, and technology to support optimal care deliveryStep in as the operational leader in the absence of the Administrator, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations of the facilityCollaborate with leadership to optimize workflows, streamline processes, and drive efficiency across the nursing departmentWhat Were Looking For :
Active RN license in WA or willingness to obtain one3-5 years of leadership experience as a Director of Nursing, or an equivalent role in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.Extensive knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, clinical operations, and performance improvement strategies.Strong leadership abilities with experience in motivating, coaching, and developing a high-performing nursing team.Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.A deep commitment to person-centered care and creating an environment where residents feel valued, respected, and heard.Proven ability to manage financial and operational aspects of a nursing department, ensuring both quality and cost-effectiveness.What We Offer :
