Overview

Responsibilities and qualifications for this position are described below. The role focuses on program analysis, process improvement, and business system assessment to support mission operations.

Plan, organize, lead, and conduct programs to develop recommendations for improvement.
Gather and organize information on administrative issues and procedures.
Create process improvement initiatives for a program.
Develop and recommend business changes to competency and program managers.

Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following :

Performs analysis of existing personnel and pay services and processes to maintain the intended functionality and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of personnel and pay business processes;

Performs various types of analyses and develops reports to detail recommendations regarding sustainment through the provision of logistics, financial management, personnel services, and / or other service support to maintain operations until successful mission accomplishment;

Provides expertise and assistance in evaluating command business systems to include setting objectives, execution, performance measurements and controls;

Assesses emerging requirements for impacts to business processes and prepare correspondence and / or briefs to inform leadership and provide recommendations to meet requirements or alternatives until requirements satisfied.
