We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team. This role involves planning and managing tax compliance, preparing and filing tax returns, and handling tax audits and inquiries. The ideal candidate will stay informed about tax requirements and changes, ensuring our organization remains compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities
Stay updated on tax requirements and changes by monitoring agency notifications and conducting research.
Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring timely registration with taxing authorities and compliance with pay and filing frequency regulations.
Gather financial records and information, creating strategies to minimize liabilities and maintain accurate spreadsheets.
Research and respond to agency inquiries, verifying internal records and resolving indirect tax-related issues.
Maintain thorough records, including proof of payments, filings, and jurisdiction listings, and respond appropriately to notices.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience with multi-state payroll tax, including Ohio, Pennsylvania, and other Northeast states.
3+ years of experience in auditing, handling agency inquiries, and record-keeping of payroll taxes.
3+ years of experience in payroll processing for organizations with 10+ employees, ideally for 20k+ employees.
3+ years of experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paylocity, Ceridian, Kronos, or similar.
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic pivot tables and formulas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of payroll tax, state tax, and multi-state tax preparation.
Proficiency in managing tax processes and handling complex tax scenarios.
Work Environment
The position operates onsite four days per week (Monday through Thursday) in a team of 13 in Payroll. The role is based in a state-of-the-art facility in Blue Bell, PA, offering amenities such as a gym and lunch room. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00 / hr.
