We are looking for a Nursing Manager who can help manage our small group of Nurses, PA and Receptionist. This position would help run the business from all angles! We have a small staff, but they are exceptional people with exceptional skills. We are looking for someone who can help lead our practice with excellent leadership, management and customer service skills.
This position oversees the day-to-day operational functions for Des Moines Plastic Surgery and serves as a working manager. Ensure that office policies, procedures, and plans are executed in a smooth and expeditious manner. Key responsibilities include financial, office administrative duties, human resources, and personnel management. This is a working manager position. This position will cover when needed reception and nursing roles. This position varies each day the percentage of time managing and percentage of time working with and covering for staff. It is expected this role will be familiar with ALL aspects of the business from reception (taking phone calls not able to be answered by reception, covering reception when not available) to nursing (including, but not limited to, helping with consults, pre-ops, follow-ups, OR, recovery) to managing (the staff, processes, procedures, financials, etc). This job does not require weekends and hours are 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday. There may be times this position is asked to come in early to accommodate our patients.

Education and Experience :
- Must have at least 5 years management experience or similar in a medical practice.
- Must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the state of Iowa. 4 year degree preferred.
- Maintain re-licensure requirements.
- Must be BLS / ACLS Certified.
- Operating room experience with at least one-year expertise in a surgical specialty or related field.
- Computer skills including Electronic Medical Record input.
- Strong financial background and human resource background.
- Extensive experience with practice management systems.
- Possess high level of customer service skills.

1. Financial Responsibility and Scheduling
Manages cash drawers.Approves employee payroll and commission.Purchases supplies, products, and manages expenses.Manages schedules of staff. Ensures proper coverage for clinic, surgery and anesthesia.2. Strategic Growth
Strategic planning and practice development. Identifies opportunities for practice growth. Monitors developments in the local market and provides recommendations.Ensure all staff are providing the best customer service possible which includes the best possible consultation to gain the trust of the customer. Every employee is part of the marketing team. They must promote themselves as well as others while at work and outside of work.3. Practice Management
Supervises and manages the schedules of the DMPS receptionist DMPS nurses and Physician Assistant and Anesthesia.Handles employee and patient complaints. Encourages a cooperative and friendly work environment.Completes yearly reviews for staff.Creates and maintains an ongoing structure for employee orientation and termination.Provides leadership, guidance, and organizational expertise to all staff members. Effectively communicates departmental activities to overall staff.Establishes a high performance team of staff who are efficient, knowledgeable, service-oriented, and shares responsibility for attaining the goals of the practice.Manages staff meeting agenda items for monthly and quarterly meetings and leads them.Create and manage tracking in Nextech and verify staff are completing their tasks. Verify staff are following up with patients and completing their to-do's on a regular basis.Uses resources available to monitor leads converted to patients, monitor communications with patients, quality assurance, etc.Continue to keep staff trained on the technology used at the practice so treatments are completed correctly. Continue to train staff on ways to increase sales, customer service, etc. to build the practice.Ensure all equipment used is maintained and in good working order. Verify staff are using the machines properly. Maintenance contracts are in place. Maintenance is completed on the machines on a regular / yearly basis.Help troubleshoot IT issues with IT support staff when needed.4. Office Administration
Covers front desk duties when receptionist is unable. Answers rollover calls when front desk is busy.Maintain nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.Assure quality of care performed by all nursing personnel.Maintain nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses.Maintain nursing staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining through monitoring and appraising nurses job performance.Maintain a safe and clean working environment by designing health procedures and protocols.Maintain Quad A certification with support of Dr. Robbins and nursing team.5. Clinical / Surgical
Helps cover in Clinic doing consults, pre-ops, post ops, follow ups and office procedures.Helps cover in Surgery when needed.Helps cover in Recovery when needed.Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Employee must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear to effectively interact with customers and team members. Some lifting may be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. May need to use hands to finger, handle, or feel on an occasional basis. Squatting and bending is required infrequently.
