Overview

Assistant Academic Research Scientist | School of Medicine - Pediatrics at Emory University. The Hong Lab studies the development and consequences of abnormal development in the kidney and identifies new biology and therapeutic targets in childhood and young adult kidney / brain cancers, including Wilms Tumor and cancers involving the SWI / SNF chromatin modifying complex.

The laboratory is housed within the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, with access to resources across Emory's cancer centers and collaborations with Georgia Tech. Fellows are encouraged to observe clinical aspects of pediatric oncology to understand the impact of work on patients.

Responsibilities

• Work with experimental platforms specific to the hiring Program.
• Design experiments, analyze data, and interpret and communicate results of basic and / or translational research.
• Review literature and apply advanced knowledge for protocol development.
• May assist in grant and other funding applications as appropriate.
• Perform other responsibilities as required.
