What would a typical day be like?
As a project lead there is no "typical" day. You will spend much of your time meeting your core responsibilities and interfacing with both engineers and leadership of the teams to ensure the best possible outcome for the projects.
Typical Responsibilities Include :
- Interfaces with Applications and gives input for quoting (future, trained)
- Reads and is familiar with all customer specifications. Creates checklists based on specifications. (trained)
- Leads the team (Electrical, Controls, & Robotics leads) through the development of task lists with estimated hours and sets milestones based on the schedule (trained)
- Polls the team for % complete and strategizes with management when projects deviate from schedule to create mitigation plans (trained)
- Generates reports using; actual time used, % complete, burn rate among other factors
- Ensure the project is on time
- Ensure the project is on budget
- Report on the budget
- Requesting resources
- Reporting to the PM / Customer meetings
- Responsible for success of the Project
- Schedule and enforce design reviews
- Assign responsibilities
- Deliver all submissions
- Report project management issues
- Travel to site to meet with team and customer at appropriate intervals. Expected travel is 20-30%
What qualifies you for this opportunity?
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (four-year college or university) or two to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical ability to lift at least 25lbs, work safely on ladders, narrow walkways, and man liftsHave experience leading schematic design, HMI, PLC, or GDU developmentsBe proficient in one of the followingSchematic Creation
PLC ProgrammingSystem DesignRobotics Design and ProgrammingHave experience leading controls projects over 5M with a team of 5 or more is preferredAccuracy – Reporting; Ability to track and maintain budgets, forecasting, progress reporting and other administrative functionsTimely – can complete repeated tasks in timely mannerLeadership - Can hold peers and leaders accountable to deadlines and deliverables.Accountability – Accepts personal responsibility for actionsIntegrity– Is open, honest and has consistency of characterCustomer – Can interface directly with the PM, executive leadership team, and customer in a professional mannerPeople – Is collaborative and works well on a team, and knows how to celebrate a winAmbition – A healthy desire to improve and growPhysical Demands :
