Job Summary

The Producer for The TransLash Podcast with Imara Jones and The Mess : Imara’s Guide to Our Political Hellscape oversees the production of TransLash’s two news and information talk shows, ensuring that every episode runs smoothly from concept to completion. This role plays a central part in the creation, coordination, and finalization of each episode, managing deadlines, coordinating guests, preparing scripts, and supporting recordings. Reporting to the Director of Podcasts, the Producer works closely with the CEO and host to ensure each show reflects TransLash’s mission and high editorial standards. The Producer also partners with internal teams and external collaborators to deliver polished, timely episodes that engage and grow TransLash’s audience.

Roles and Responsibilities

Pre-Production

• Research and propose guests, topics, and special series for The TransLash Podcast and The Mess.
• Coordinate and schedule approved guests; send all relevant details and recording links.
• Proactively facilitate communication with host, guests and any other relevant stakeholders to ensure all participants have the materials and information needed in advance.
• Gather key details and materials from guests, including title, bio, approved headshots, and social media handles.
• Draft guest briefs for the interviewer, as requested.
• Create and prepare scripts and audio clips for each program, ensuring editorial alignment and clarity.
• Lead planning meetings for The TransLash Podcast and The Mess.
