Job description

Overview

Project Manager (FT) Facilities Design Construction at Huntsville Hospital.

You will develop, implement, and administer capital projects under the direction of the Plant Ops Manager and Senior Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project scope, cost, and schedule with input from senior management, user groups, design consultants, and construction managers.
  • Obtain required sign-offs and keep projects on budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Present facility / space issues and proposals to end users and senior management to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Lead multidisciplinary groups to resolve capital issues and achieve consensus.
  • Maintain project baseline budgets and schedules, report variances, and implement strategies to return to baseline.
  • Communicate regularly with department heads, staff, consultants, contractors, and outside agencies to ensure effective project completion.
  • Provide supervision and evaluation of architectural / engineering activities with other departments as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Education preferred : Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering (experience may substitute).
  • License, certification, and registration : OSHA 10-hour certification preferred (must receive within first year if not current). LEED Certification is a plus.
  • Experience : Healthcare construction experience preferred; five (5) years in construction-related field with strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Additional Skills / Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft Office Programs; working knowledge of Timberline Cost Reporting and other project management software is preferred.
  • Advanced blueprint reading ability and thorough knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to manage an independent project up to $25 M or larger.
  • Strong negotiation, critical reasoning, and decision-making skills.
  • Physical ability : lift / move up to 100 lbs frequently, lift / move more than 100 lbs occasionally; tolerate moderate to high noise levels; work outdoors and in high or precarious places.
