POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the firm's day-to-day operations. The Director of Operations will lead efforts to streamline operations, enhance client service delivery, improve internal processes and scale the organization's capabilities to support sustainable growth. This role is critical in translating vision into results through effective planning, operational leadership, and cross functional collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing team of professionals across business development, client services, and internal operations.
- Build and maintain a collaborative and performance driven culture.
- Facilitate team building initiatives and promote collaborative activities across teams.
- Continuously evaluate and refine operational workflows to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Set clear departmental goals and track performance to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to stay ahead of changes in laws and regulations.
- Lead recruiting, staffing, and development efforts to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Negotiate and manage vendor agreements related to software, services, marketing and outsourcing.
- Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to drive proactive decision making.
- Oversees compliance with all non-securities related regulations and requirements.
- Manage special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
10 years' experience in leadership or operations.Results driven with a focus on performance, quality and continuous improvement.Aptitude in problem solving and decision making.Prove track record of managing complex, regulated operations in growth focused environment.Demonstrates unwavering integrity and leads with a strong ethical foundation.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree : MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.Strong working knowledge of insurance projects, policy administration, claims, underwriting, and compliance.Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities.High emotional intelligence and ability to lead through influence.WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role typically operates in a professional office setting.Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requires flexibility and strong attention to detail.Must be able to communicate effectively in both in-person and virtual environments.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasional standing, walking, or lifting up to 15 pounds.This position may require the ability to use a computer for extended periods of time.Local travel is necessary, so the ability to travel as needed is required. Travel to Traverse City and / or Grand Rapids on weekly or bi-weekly basis.25% TravelMay occasionally be required to travel to attend conferences or other related events.NOTE
