PCHC’s School-Based Health Center team is looking for a School-Based Health Center Coordinator to support our clinics across three school districts Bangor, Brewer, and Old Town. In this dynamic role, you’ll be the go-to person for students, families, and school staff seeking medical or mental health care. From welcoming students and taking vitals to coordinating services and connecting families with community resources, you’ll help ensure every student receives the support they need—right where they learn and grow. All full-time, externally hired Medical Assistants will receive a $3500 sign on / retention bonus!
Schedule : Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm (This position requires travel between the School-Based Health Centers in Bangor, Brewer, and Old Town. Mileage is reimburseable per PCHC's Business Travel & Expense Reimbursement policy.)
Highlights of the position :
- Provides high quality customer service by demonstrating kindness, effective communication, advocacy, and follow-through.
- Serves as primary point of contact for matters pertaining to SBHC operations and team. Collaborates daily on department needs, following up as appropriate.
- Functions as a Medical Assistant, performing duties such as : rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and more. Is able to perform all functions of MA role as outlined in PCHC’s Medical Assistant job description and clinical competency checklist.
- Functions as a Patient Service Representative, performing duties such as : check-in, check-out, and scheduling. Is able to perform all functions of PSR role as outlined in PCHC’s Patient Service Representative job description and competency checklist.
- Coordinates SBHC enrollment activities. Monitors student enrollment, consents, insurance information, lab and inventory logs, and more.
- Promotes awareness and enrollment in the SBHC program. Provides materials, information, and resources to students, parents / caregivers, teachers, and staff.
- Supports SBHC in project work for this emerging service, coordinating projects of various scope and budget.
- Serves as liaison between PCHC and school personnel. Collaborates with all teams to identify ways to improve the overall SBHC experience.

Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.Excellent word processing, database and Excel skills, as well as experience in web management and general computer skills.Certified as a Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants, or a minimum of 5 years clinical experience.Will have up-to-date training and certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Health & Safety Institute.
