About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience required

License : Required

Certifications : BLS required, ACLS preferred

Must-Have :

• Experience with post-surgical, cardiac, pulmonary, renal, GI, urology diagnoses
• Ability to titrate drips occasionally
• Familiarity with common titratable and set rate drips such as heparin, insulin, IVF, electrolytes, diltiazem, antibiotics, dopamine, TPN

Description :

The position is for a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical unit.

The unit typically cares for adult patients with various medical and surgical needs.

The average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4.

There are two nurse aids during day shift and 1.5 during evening shifts.

A house supervisor is always available and does not take on patient assignments.

There are no monitor techs on this unit, and respiratory therapy is called in as needed.

Self-scheduling is not permitted, but block scheduling may be possible upon request.

Every other weekend is required for this position.

Holiday work is also a requirement.

There are no on-call or standby requirements.

Scrub colors are charcoal or pewter gray, and any style is permitted.

Unit-specific orientation is tailored to the individual nurse.
