Clinical Psychology Assistant Professor

The Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track position in Clinical Psychology (Assistant Professor level) to begin August 1, 2026.

We seek someone to join an active and collaborative department. The Department of Psychology consists of 28 full-time faculty and offers a BA and BS in psychology, including Disciplinary Honors, an MA in experimental psychology, and a PhD in clinical, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology (see http://psy.uncg.edu for more information).

Our department is home to the UNCG Psychology Clinic (https://psy.uncg.edu/clinic/), our doctoral training clinic that provides mental health services to the broader community, with a focus on providing empirically supported treatments to underserved populations in a culturally competent manner. UNCGs clinical program emphasizes the integration of science and practice, values both basic and applied research on human behavior across the life span and encourages collaboration across research areas. The doctoral program in Clinical Psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association.

We welcome applications from any area of child/adolescent clinical psychology. All applicants should show evidence of a strong independent research program, a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, and excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching and practicum supervision. We are particularly interested in researchers who would broaden existing departmental strengths by adding expertise in areas such as pediatric health psychology, autism spectrum disorders, and childhood trauma. We also welcome applicants outside of these areas.

Applicants must hold or anticipate a doctoral degree by August 1, 2026 from an APA-accredited clinical program and be licensed or license-eligible in North Carolina.

3. A research statement with up to 1500 words on the applicants past research and future research goals if selected for the position.

4. A teaching statement (up to 1000 words) that includes their teaching and mentoring style, courses they would be prepared and excited to teach, and the candidates experience or perspective on teaching and mentoring the UNCG student population.

5. Up to 3 representative publications.
