Position Summary
This position involves performing advanced radiographic procedures for interventional studies in specialized areas, ensuring high-quality care for patients.
Position Duties
- Work under the supervision of the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, with no supervisory responsibilities over others.
- Coordinate daily schedules with Radiologists and respond effectively to emergencies as they arise.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using RIS and PACS systems.
- Order, maintain, and understand the functionality of all ancillary equipment used in both diagnostic and therapeutic examinations.
- Engage in continuing education initiatives and train with the IV team before performing venous punctures. Obtain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- Perform venous punctures and manage central venous lines during examinations, with readiness to administer CPR.
- Operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality angiographic, digital, and other specialized images.
- Assume Team Leader responsibilities in the absence of the designated leader.
- Provide follow-up observation and monitoring until patients safely leave the department.
- Conduct hemodynamic monitoring duties, including setting up and maintaining transducers, physiological data recorders, ECG monitors, oxymetry, digital cardiac outputs, and peripheral vascular recorders.
- Execute image manipulation according to established departmental protocols.
- Be available for on-call duties and flexible shifts to support department needs.
- Perform quality control checks on equipment, ensuring adherence to proper procedures.
- Conduct radiographic procedures for interventional studies, preparing and educating patients on procedures, and administering approved medications under direct supervision of Radiologists.
- Instruct staff on the use of IR equipment and procedures, contributing to research projects under the guidance of Radiologists or Section Chiefs.
- Fulfill any other miscellaneous job-related tasks as requested.
