PCU Nursing Job Details Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530 - $1640 Location : Smyrna, Tennessee (37167) – Nashville area healthcare jobs Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Assignment Length : 13 weeks Start Date : January 12, 2026 End Date : April 13, 2026 Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts) Hours per Week : 36 Setting : On-site, state-of-the-art facility Number of Beds : 12 Patient Ratio : 4 : 1 Staffing : 1 tech per unit Equipment : GE Monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispensing Documentation : Meditech EMR Dress Code : Charcoal gray scrubs Schedule : Every other weekend required Floating : In rotation with full-time staff and other travel nurses Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (Registered Nurse) BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, step-down, or acute care nursing experience Proficient in post-cath care, including TR band management, advanced pulmonary treatments, and medication titration Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and problem-solving skills Familiarity with AIDET communication, patient education, and completion of communication boards PCU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care in the Progressive Care Unit, maintaining a 4 : 1 patient ratio Provide post-cath care, including TR band management Administer advanced pulmonary treatments and titrate medications Utilize GE Monitors, Nova glucometers, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems Document patient care using Meditech EMR Educate patients and families on medications and care plans Participate in unit-based initiatives to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes Float to other units as required, collaborating with full-time staff and fellow travel nurses Discover rewarding healthcare jobs in Smyrna, Tennessee, and enjoy working with a dedicated nursing team in a supportive environment.
