Position OverviewThe Department of Music seeks a temporary Adjunct Faculty member in Choral Music Education for the Spring 2026 semester.
ResponsibilitiesTeach Secondary Choral Methods (Grades 7–12) .
Supervise choral / vocal music education majors in field placements and student teaching.
Depending on departmental needs and candidate expertise, opportunities may include conducting a collegiate-level choir and / or teaching an undergraduate conducting course.
Collaborate with the Coordinator of Music Education and the Director of Choral Activities to support programmatic goals and student success.
Engage in departmental, school, and college-wide recruitment initiatives and maintain connections with regional music educators.
Qualifications Required :
Completed master’s degree in Music Education or Choral Conducting.
Minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching experience in choral music at the middle and / or high school level.
Strong pedagogical expertise in vocal / choral instruction and rehearsal techniques.
Record of visibility and professional engagement in the field of choral music education.
Preferred :
ABD or doctoral degree in Music Education or Choral Conducting.
College teaching experience in music education and / or choral conducting.
Experience supervising pre-service music educators in field placements or student teaching.
