An aerospace client is looking for a System Safety Engineer with Active Secret Clearance who will include supporting development and qualification of Navigation and Cockpit systems by independently analyzing and recommending safety criteria in system design, equipment, and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.

Position : System Safety Engineer with Active Secret Clearance
Pay Rate : $44 / hr. ++
Duration : 6 months or longer
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Will perform hazard analyses for systems and sub-systems, software system safety assessments, and hazardous material management planning and execution. Develops safety documents as required to support customer and test / operational range requirements.Fundamental knowledge of System Safety Program conduct in accordance with MIL-STD-882 is required. Fundamental knowledge of principles of system safety engineering including experience performing : Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Safety Hazard Analysis Reports (SHAR) and Safety Analysis Report (SAR) are required.Primary tasks will include supporting development and qualification of Navigation and Cockpit systems by independently analyzing and recommending safety criteria in system design, equipment, and procedures to control or eliminate hazardsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
US CitizenshipActive DoD Secret ClearanceBachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and 9 years of experience, or Master's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Ph. D and 4 years of experienceStrong background in Systems or Electrical EngineeringExpertise in Development environments applying MIL-STD-882 System Safety program executionTechnical experience assessing safety of systems / subsystems, identify safety hazards and recommend safety requirements to system design and operations to mitigate safety risks.Experience developing system safety documents in support of customer requirementsKnowledge of engineering drawings and ability to read schematics and parts lists.Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (example, Excel and PowerPoint)Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skillsPREFERRED SKILLS :
A fundamental knowledge of Reliability Engineering principles in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217Capable of understanding incident investigations and root cause and corrective actionsAbout our client :
