Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN with a NM or compact license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications for a fast-paced emergency department role.

Responsibilities

Work in a 24 / 7 urgent and emergency care setting

Emergency department serving a diverse patient population

Three 12-hour night shifts per week

Floating required between departments and local locations within 20 miles

Epic EMR experience preferred but not required; onsite training available

Provides patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the emergency department

Coordinates care with patients, families, and the healthcare team

Administers medication and treatments according to protocols and documents accurately

Supervises LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed

Competency testing and patient-specific protocols are completed per unit standards

Staff must wait one year after prior permanent employment before being eligible as a traveler

No locals allowed; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled

Requirements

Active RN license from New Mexico or a compact state

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required

BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be from the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross

Minimum two years of current experience in a large emergency department

Successful completion of at least one previous 13-week travel assignment

Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required

Must pass onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during orientation, with one retest allowed
