Job description

Consultant Position

Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Consultant for the Ohio State-Based Team within our Northeast consulting group who will support a portfolio that involves financial and policy initiatives connected to directed payment projects contained within the Northeast group portfolio. The Consultant provides project management services to project teams and is responsible for ensuring the timely and effective delivery of technical, policy and political solutions created to ensure successful results for our clients, particularly in the area of Medicaid financing. The Consultant supports the Managing Director, Director and Associate Director. The responsibilities will include managing detailed project schedules and workplans, timelines and strategies related to client engagements and managing workflows with project teams to ensure timely completion of client deliverables. This is a full-time remote position based in Ohio.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Tracks the progression of project components. Documents important decisions, next steps, and outcomes of the projects.
  • Produce or assist in the production of client deliverables.
  • Assist with projects requiring quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis; collect, analyze, and summarize the data and findings into concise, usable reports.
  • Assist with meeting, conference, panel, hearing, etc. planning and coordination. Prepare for and participate in both internal team and external client meetings, as requested.
  • Conduct research and literature reviews using appropriate industry publications and databases; analyze findings that confirm the application of various healthcare policies, programs and technology.

Key Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree and 3-7 years in a public healthcare policy administration role and / or in the healthcare consulting industry; advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics or MBA preferred (or additional relevant experience in lieu of such advanced degree) and 2-3 years of progressively responsible work experience in health or human services policy research, consulting and / or in a service delivery environment.
  • Previous project / task management experience strongly desired; attention to detail, a must.
  • Experience delivering services on several projects simultaneously required.
  • Experience with Medicaid preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point, and Asana required.
  • Other Requirements :

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including relaying complex technical terms in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and other outside audiences.
  • Experience organizing and coordinating the work of others.
  • Professional writing experience is highly desirable.
  • The ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Time management skills.
  • Compensation & Benefits :

    The anticipated salary range for candidates is $65,400 / year in our lowest geographic market range to up to $81,500 / year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate's education, and the candidate's market location. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey's Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 7% of annual salary.

    Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short term disability, long term disability, and basic life. Employees are also able to enroll in Sellers Dorsey's 401k plan provided they meet plan requirements. Sellers Dorsey offers a Flexible Time Off that allows employees to use what they need. Additionally, we offer 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, paid time off for qualifying medical leave, and up to 12 weeks of combined paid parental and bonding leave. The foregoing benefits and paid time off, including an employee's eligibility therefore, will be controlled by applicable plan documents and Sellers Dorsey policy.
