This position will be Friday through Tuesday with the ability to float between inpatient, acute rehab unit, and outpatient as needed. The physical therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs. These programs aim to improve patient mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. Effective communication is essential to gain the confidence and cooperation of patients, their families, and other healthcare providers. The role includes adhering to local, state, and federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Clinical supervision of assistants and aides, as well as serving as a clinical instructor for assigned students, is required. Rehabilitation services involve planning, preparing, and implementing individually designed physical treatment programs. The practitioner will complete and document patient evaluations and tests according to established standards and regulatory requirements. Based on data gathered and diagnoses from the examination, the therapist will develop and update each patient’s Plan of Care (POC). Coordinating patient care effectively and efficiently with other care providers and support team members is critical. The physical therapist will also maintain accurate documentation related to patients and their therapy in medical and departmental records as required. Additional responsibilities may include general clerical tasks such as answering phones, updating patient appointments, and managing electronic health records (EHR). Safety is a priority, and participation in quality improvement processes and interdisciplinary projects is expected. Maintaining a clean, neat, and safe working environment, along with inspecting and using equipment per manufacturers' guidelines, is essential. Confidentiality of all patient protected health information (PHI) must be maintained, with a commitment to privacy regulations. Retaining certification and completing mandated continuing education requirements meets accreditation and licensure standards. Candidates should have graduated from an accredited physical therapy graduate program.
