We are seeking a President to lead our client's company into its next chapter of growth and transformation. This is a pivotal role for a proven leader with consumer goods expertise, deep national account sales experience, and a track record of owning full P&L responsibility for a business operation.
The President will work collaboratively with the CEO to set the strategic vision while owning the oversight of day-to-day operations. This role is responsible for ensuring sales performance and profitability goals are achieved and for inspiring a high-performing leadership team. This role will lead all aspects of the business—Sales, Marketing, Product Development, IT, Finance, Supply Chain, Distribution, and Operations—while partnering closely with ownership to refine strategy, strengthen culture, and build sustainable growth.
This role requires a transformational leader : someone who can balance respect for the company's heritage and values with the courage to challenge, refine, and modernize the business for long-term success.
The role of the President is on site and will require relocation if not already in the Kansas City metro area.
Responsibilities :
- Embody the company's mission, ensuring culture and values remain central while driving results.
- Inspire and align a strong, committed leadership team, helping them sharpen priorities, grow in their roles, and deliver more impact.
- Drive national account expansion, building trusted relationships with key retailers and unlocking new revenue streams.
- Strengthen and regain share in e-commerce, particularly Amazon and marketplace channels.
- Stabilize specialty / independent channel performance.
- Expand international sales thoughtfully to diversify revenue streams.
- Oversee all company functions with clear accountability and measurable goals.
- Ensure disciplined P&L management, rationalizing assortments and optimizing profitability without compromising culture or product integrity.
- Lead the completion and optimization of the IT roadmap, including ERP, e-commerce capabilities, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure product development reflects both creativity and commercial viability
- Safeguard and grow the equity of the company's brand—honoring tradition while building relevance for the future.
Requirements :
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in consumer goods, with significant wholesale / national account exposure.Proven success managing P&L responsibility for a business.Strong knowledge of national accounts, e-commerce (DTC and marketplace), specialty / independent channels, and international distribution.Background in product-driven businesses where emotional consumer connection is critical.Proven ability to lead sales strategies across several channels of distribution including major retail and distribution partners.Experience working closely with IT and operational systems (ERP, digital platforms) to drive efficiency and growth.Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive organizational change.Strong product development knowledge and proven experience collaborating with product development teams to drive innovation and deliver compelling assortments.Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
