Job descriptionHigh school diploma or equivalent. Diesel mechanic degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with specific experience working on tractors and trailers. In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and other mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to use diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot issues. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift 75 pounds. Class A CDL or the ability to obtain. Excellent mechanical aptitude. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good organizational and time management skills. Commitment to safety and quality.
Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and experienced diesel tractor / trailer mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel-powered tractors and trailers to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel tractors and trailers, including oil changes, tire rotations, and vehicle inspections.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on diesel tractors and trailers.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other components.
- Replace worn or damaged parts, such as brakes, tires, and suspension components.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on diesel tractors and trailers.
