Job Summary
The Behavior Consultant utilizes discretion and independent judgment in carrying out the duties and goals of the organization. This role develops, delivers, and monitors individualized Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, with the goal of improving the quality of life for each individual and their family.
Behavior Consultants oversee the performance of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and facilitate skill generalization by training parents and caregivers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision and Program Oversight
Supervise RBTs in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.Assess RBT needs and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.Oversee client hours and ensure fulfillment of required service hours.Provide on-site supervision and assess client needs to develop individualized programs.Review data, monitor progress, and make treatment recommendations.Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to reduce maladaptive behaviors and promote independence.Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, caregivers, and staff to ensure consistent implementation of behavior services.Collaboration and Consultation
Serve as a member of IEPs and PTMs, providing objectives, BIPs, and recommendations for home implementation.Continuously monitor each child’s progress and update treatment plans as needed.Conduct workshops for families, schools, parents, and teachers in ABA practices.Interface with schools, insurance companies, and other service providers.Administrative and Reporting Duties
Write and approve reports (assessments, updates, exit, and termination reports) according to timelines.Attend and observe clients’ in-home or center-based programs.Conduct competencies, evaluations, and level reviews for subordinates.Maintain accurate billing records and update HR with valid personal records.Participate in meetings, including monthly consultant meetings and supervisor reviews.Maintain Central Reach calendar and complete other assigned duties.Center-Based Behavior Consultant (Additional Responsibilities)
Hold monthly parent meetings to promote generalization of client skills.Communicate with other consultants and supervisors when leaving the center.Provide recess and lunch support.Open and / or close the center as scheduled.Maintain walkie-talkie communication during shifts.Education and Experience
Required : Board Certified Behavior Analyst ( BCBA ) credential.Required : Master’s degree or higher in behavior analysis, education, or psychologyBackground Checks & Licensing
