Overview
The Sales Manager's purpose is to uphold the Carter's mission, vision, and values in order to support a high performing team that consistently delivers top end results. The SM, in partnership with the store management team, oversees the overall productivity for their store. The SM is responsible for supporting the management team in driving financial results through exceptional store standards, execution of company strategies, and positive customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- People – Communicate professionally with the team; management and associates; assist in hiring; actively recruit and review candidate applications to fill positions timely; provide consistent feedback; recognize and reward performance; address concerns with the Store Manager; partner to address performance issues.
- Performance – Maintain neat, clean, and organized store standards; deliver exceptional customer service; lead and execute an assigned Division of Responsibility (DOR) through planning and follow-through; perform Leader on Duty responsibilities; adjust schedules based on business needs to maximize sales and productivity; discuss strengths, opportunities, and trends with the Store Manager; use customer feedback to identify opportunities and drive results.
- Process – Plan and execute store processes and merchandise placement per brand guidelines; support Asset Protection and operational controls; execute company directives (visuals, signage, markdowns, promotions); build customer loyalty through company programs; ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
High school degree or GED required; Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.Minimum of 1 year in retail store management.Demonstrated customer engagement skills; strong listening, written, and oral communication skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently; basic computer skills; must be at least 18 years old.Physical Demands
Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly.Ability to stand for long periods; climb ladders; constant walking and standing; frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.Availability Requirements
Regular work frequency required to remain an active employee.Availability changes must be approved by the Store Manager and reviewed based on business needs.Scheduled shifts typically range from 3-8 hours, depending on state laws.Compensation
Compensation for this position ranges from $18.75 - $22.75 per hour based on experience and location.
