Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing a range of duties to develop and enhance the volunteer program at House of Charity including recruitment, selection, orientation, tracking and placement of volunteers, especially parish and school volunteers and non-service-learning volunteers. This position also supports basic administrative functions of the shelter.

Volunteer Support
Collaborate with admin team, developing and supervising volunteers.Respond to requests from the community wishing to contribute time, energy or other resources to House of Charity.Recruit volunteers through various strategies including advertising, attending Service Learning and Volunteer Fairs and by publicizing volunteer opportunities collaborating with various volunteer websites.Develops clear responsibilities and instructions for each volunteer activity and coordinates with appropriate staff to ensure volunteer support during their shift.Acts as a liaison for volunteers and donors to ensure clear communication of HOC policies and relevant updates.Coordinates with HOC operations manager to ensure proper staff coverage and oversight of volunteer activitiesObtain and process necessary paperwork, background checks and information from volunteers and conduct interviews.Properly screen and select volunteers to help to ensure that Code of Conduct and accreditation standards are met.Provide orientation, training, placement and scheduling of volunteers.Coordinate and maintain record keeping and files on volunteers to include tracking volunteer hours and keeping the volunteer database current. Track and report out data as needed.Recruit and host volunteer groups; specifically, those from key Catholic and academic partners. Work to find innovative ways to increase volunteerism.Assist in planning special volunteer recognition functions and activities.Administrative Support
Manage and coordinate order of all necessary office supplies.Manage hiring portal to identify potential candidates to fill open positions. Update portal based on responses.Schedule and coordinate interviews. Prepare hiring packets specific to interview needs to support hiring committee. Support on-boarding functions for all new hires.Coordinate with shelter contacts for excess donation pick up on a weekly basis. This may include establishing new contacts and / or coordinating with volunteers.Support other administrative functions as assigned.Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).Will regularly utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor.Adheres to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine.Performs as a team member to ensure that productivity outcome measures are achieved.Performs related functions necessary to support the mission and core values of Catholic Charities.Job Qualifications

Education / Experience :
to perform this job successfully, an individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent required. Work experience in a not-for-profit and prior experience working with volunteers required.
Certificates / Licenses : To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a valid Drivers License. Blood Borne Pathogen training. Successfully pass background check as required for position. Requires respirator medical evaluation questionnaire, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the WA Industrial Safety & Act standards.
