Job Description

Join our dedicated healthcare team at Cass County Memorial Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist! In this role, you will provide essential respiratory care to patients, supporting their recovery and well-being. Your responsibilities include assessing patient needs, operating and maintaining respiratory equipment, administering treatments, and collaborating with medical staff to develop and implement care plans.

The schedule involves working three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. Additionally, you'll participate in a weekly on-call rotation during two nights, ensuring continuous patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate patients' respiratory conditions through assessments and diagnostics

Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and therapies as prescribed

Operate and troubleshoot various respiratory care equipment

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly

Educate patients and families about respiratory health and treatment plans

Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to develop comprehensive care strategies

Maintain accurate documentation in patient medical records

Comply with hospital protocols and safety standards

What You Bring

Current Arizona State Respiratory Therapist License (or applicable state license) – required

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) – required

Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred but not required

Prior experience working in a hospital setting, ideally with adult and pediatric patients

Strong assessment skills and attention to detail

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours

Preferred Education & Experience

Associate’s Degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or related field – required

Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital environment

Demonstrated proficiency with advanced respiratory equipment and therapies

Experience in acute care settings, including emergency and ICU departments
