Lieutenant (#014203) Lieber Correctional Institutional, Ridgeville (DORCHESTER) Level 3

Job Responsibilities

This position is for the operations lieutenant.

Required to make entries and inquiries in database FO the CRT mainframe and maintain security of the CRT terminal.

Maintain AC active flash card on all inmates.

Ensure housing unit rosters are accurate and maintained and updated as movement occurs.

Provide each housing unit with a current and accurate dorm report / dorm roster daily.

Maintain security of sensitive documents used in operations section.

Maintain an inmate movement journal documenting all movements in and out of the institution as it occurs.

Movement must be documented in CRT.

Ensure inmates comply with established clearance procedures when being released and transferred.

Ensure all inquiries from outside agencies are handled promptly and professionally.

Maintain accountability of all keys and other equipment assigned to operations area.

Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements :

A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelors degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements :

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

• Three (3) years of experience in correctional security military or police work to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for supervisory experience year for year (associate and above 1 year).
• Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
