River Valley Primary Care Services (RVPCS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center that provides primary health and dental services care to our patients in the River Valley. We use a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) approach to our services. A PCMH includes a focus on the needs of patients, using electronic medical records, and coordinating care with an emphasis on prevention, education and disease management.
General Job Summary :
The Staff Physician works as part of a team providing medical services to the patients of the community health center. In addition, Staff Physicians, unless specifically exempted by the Medical Director, assume "on call" after hours responsibilities and supervise community health center Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners as appropriate.

Primary Duties :
Provides primary medical care for all patients in accordance with the physician's medical specialty.Provides high quality supervision of patient care including appropriate and timely diagnosis based on findings in the current history and physical exam and provides appropriate treatment and / or referral, where necessary.Emphasizes the importance of preventive health care to patient and incorporates standards of care into management.Incorporates evidence based guidelines and performance measures in delivering clinical services and uses available resources in diagnosis and treatment in an appropriate and cost efficient manner.Confers with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and patient's families concerning treatment and care of patients.Refers patients who require specialist services, while maintaining responsibility, and thus assuring that continuity of care is provided.Participates in the development and implementation of a regularly up-dated quality improvement plan for the consortium, including peer review / collaborative review.Participates in the Health Promotion / Disease Prevention activities required by the U.S. Public Health Service Act (Section 330) for FQHCs.Attends all medical staff meetings and participates in ongoing training as required.Makes recommendations concerning needed supplies and equipment in accordance with budget allocations.Performs other necessary duties as required by the community health center to meet the goals of providing primary health care.Completes all duties (superbills, incomplete progress notes, In Basket tasks, etc.) on or before Administrative Day.Supports initiatives such as Patient Centered Medical Home and Meaningful Use.Participates and encourages diversity and inclusionOther duties as assigned.
