PCU Nursing Job Details

Location : Hilo, Hawaii (96720) – Explore tropical surroundings, beaches, waterfalls, and local attractions

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing – Hawaii nursing jobs

Unit : Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU)

Duration : 13-week contract (Start : 12 / 1 / 2025, End : 3 / 2 / 2026)

Hours per Week : 36 scheduled hours / week after orientation

Shift : 12-hour shifts (day / night available)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680-$1800

Floating : May float to Medical, Surgical / Peds, ICU, and ER units

Dress Code : Scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Hawaii RN license required by start date (licensing assistance available for out-of-state nurses)

Minimum 1 year recent acute care hospital experience

Progressive Care Unit, cardiac, and telemetry experience preferred

ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred

Ability to arrive Thursday before start for employee health appointment

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Provide primary nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit

Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips; deliver continuous cardiac monitoring

Perform fingerstick blood sugar checks and routine nursing procedures

Utilize Meditech charting and Pyxis medication systems

Operate BIPAP and other specialized medical equipment

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams; float to other acute care units as needed
