SUMMARY :

The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations within the CNC machine shop, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role is responsible for coordinating machinists, and support staff, monitoring workflow, and optimizing processes to achieve on-time delivery and cost targets. The supervisor provides leadership, technical guidance, and hands-on problem-solving to support machining operations, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

Supervision and Leadership :

• Directly supervise employees, providing guidance, feedback, and support as needed.
• Set clear expectations for performance and conduct regular evaluations to assess individual and team effectiveness.
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and effective manner.

Workflow Management :

• Coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks to ensure production goals are met.
• Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and department managers to optimize efficiency and resource utilization.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, including inventory levels, equipment maintenance, and employee attendance.

Safety and Compliance :

• Enforce safety regulations and company policies to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or non-compliance issues promptly.
• Provide training and support to ensure employees understand and adhere to safety protocols.
• Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices related to workplace safety and compliance.

Communication and Reporting :

• Serve as a liaison between management and frontline employees, communicating expectations, updates, and initiatives effectively.
• Prepare and distribute shift reports, including production metrics, quality data, and any operational issues or challenges.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and department heads to develop strategies for achieving production targets and resolving operational issues.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing, warehouse, or similar environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage employees.
• Knowledge of production processes, workflow optimization, and quality control principles.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a safe work environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and production management software.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in management or a related field is a plus.
