Job description

Job Title : Medical Physicist

Location : Longview / Tyler, Texas (Full-Time, Onsite)

Employment Type : Permanent | Healthcare / Radiation Oncology

Salary Range : (based on experience)

Sign-On Bonus : $15,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our expanding East Texas Physics team serving Longview, Tyler, and Palestine regions. You will collaborate with a professional team of physicists and dosimetrists, working in a technologically advanced environment to deliver precise and safe radiation therapy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full on-site clinical medical physics support for your primary clinic.
  • Ensure accurate calibration, operation, and quality assurance for all radiation therapy equipment.
  • Support and supervise dosimetry and treatment planning, including SBRT, SRS, HDR, LDR, and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Conduct patient-specific QA, safety checks, and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize treatment delivery.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols .
  • Participate in continuous improvement and technology upgrade initiatives.

Technology & Equipment

  • Linear Accelerators : 7 Varian Linacs (2 TrueBeam, 1 Halcyon, 4 2100 C-Series)
  • HDR Programs : 2 active HDR units (Nucletron afterloaders)
  • Systems Used : Eclipse, BrainLab, VariSeed, Oncentra, Aria, Radformation, and RadCalc
  • Programs : SBRT, SRS, HDR, LDR, Radiopharmaceuticals
  • Qualifications

    Required :

  • Master’s or PhD in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP-accredited program
  • Graduate of a CAMPEP-accredited residency program
  • ABR board certification (or in process of obtaining certification)
  • Eligibility for Texas state licensure
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Preferred :

  • Working knowledge of Varian Linear Accelerators and Varian VariSource / Bravos HDR
  • Experience with Eclipse , Brachyvision , and MOSAIQ systems
  • Familiarity with HDR, SBRT, SRS procedures , and radiation safety
