As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be an essential member of our healthcare team, delivering outstanding clinical care and exceptional customer service. Reporting to the PCS Manager / Clinical Coordinator, you will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care in accordance with hospital and departmental policies. You will also have the opportunity to lead and delegate tasks to non-RN personnel, ensuring a collaborative and efficient work environment.

In this dynamic role, you may cross-train to work in the New London ED / Psychiatric Emergency Services and Pequot Emergency Departments as needed. Your contributions will help maintain a high level of service across our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment : Continuously assess the physical and psychosocial condition of patients throughout their care journey.
• Care Planning : Develop, communicate, and document individualized care plans, involving patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Implementation : Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and coordinate care plans effectively.
• Evaluation : Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make necessary adjustments, including referrals as needed.
• Patient Education : Assess learning needs and provide educational opportunities for patients and families, documenting outcomes.
• Specialized Roles : Function as a psychiatric emergency nurse, triage nurse, charge nurse, or preceptor as authorized.
• Performance Standards : Meet expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and personal development.
• Additional Duties : Perform other tasks as directed to ensure smooth departmental operations.
• Unit-Specific Responsibilities : Maintain competency in clinical and technical skills, demonstrating appropriate emergency nursing actions.
