Job descriptionValid and current licensure in the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (must be active and current). Required certifications within 6 months of hire : ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, OSHA Respirator Fit Testing certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire). High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by at least an associate's degree in Respiratory Care. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience; strong recommendations considered for new graduates. Mandatory PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) experience. Strong clinical skills in respiratory assessment and therapy. Proficiency in advanced procedures such as intubations, aerosol delivery, and patient assessments. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Flexibility to adapt to shift rotations and diverse clinical settings. Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs., sit, stand, and perform intermittent movements during shifts. Commitment to professionalism, safety protocols, and continuous learning. Administer and monitor respiratory treatments per physician orders. Conduct respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans. Assist with advanced airway procedures, including intubations and aerosol therapy. Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and communicate clearly with patients. Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient progress. Ensure compliance with safety standards, including OSHA and PPE protocols. Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations. Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Support patient education and discharge planning as needed. Perform additional duties to support departmental operations. Flexibility to work beyond standard hours, including on-call shifts. Willingness to work in varied clinical settings. Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift up to 40 lbs., and perform physical activities required during shifts. Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold personal integrity at all times.
