Ecoservices is seeking a Senior Laboratory Analyst to support laboratory operations at our Long Beach, California plant. This full-time role reports to the Laboratory Manager and plays a key part in driving analytical excellence, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate across departments on complex projects. This position may require weekend coverage depending on site needs.
What You Will Be Doing :
Lead complex lab assignments and special projects in collaboration with lab supervisionProvide analytical support for plant operations including testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and wastewaterPerform daily calibrations and QA / QC to ensure accuracy of testingTroubleshoot and maintain laboratory instruments and equipmentManage and update calibration schedules for all quality-critical equipmentCreate, revise, and approve site-specific and shared laboratory proceduresRegister sample results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and issue reportsUtilize SAP QM module and other lab data systems for operational efficiencyConduct non-routine chemical and physical tests using techniques such as ion chromatography, ICP, and wet chemistryGenerate and issue Certificates of Analysis to customersSupport process improvement, process safety, and analytical initiatives across ECO ServicesLead and participate in environmental audits and compliance activitiesManage laboratory waste in accordance with plant policies and proceduresPerform field testing on plant equipment and support troubleshooting effortsConduct safety inspections and participate in recurring safety meetingsRecommend procedural changes to enhance safety and efficiencyCommunicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel and contribute to team-based projectsWrite work orders and purchase laboratory operating supplies as neededEnter incident and accident reports and address safety concernsUtilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on site and task requirementsPerform duties both inside the laboratory and in the field on plant process equipmentRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a science or technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 8 years in the chemical process industry with a strong background in laboratory operations and analytical proceduresWorking knowledge of LIMS and SAP QM systemsFamiliarity with ASTM methods, policies, and practicesStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environmentExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to lift and carry testing equipment and work in various physical and environmental conditionsAbility to interpret technical instructions and apply scientific thinking to solve problemsComfortable with shop math including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportionsExperience preparing technical reports, summaries, and participating in discussions and presentations
