Senior Director - Epic Clinical Applications
Leads the operational management of Epic and other clinical applications, ensuring optimal use of technology to improve patient care, clinical workflows, revenue cycle and overall organizational performance. Partners with the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to develop and lead UMMC's overall strategic direction and governance of Epic. This role requires strong leadership, clinical informatics expertise and a deep understanding of Epic Systems. Responsible for most complex process analysis, design, and simulation especially in the healthcare mission.
Education and Experience Required : Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of work experience in clinical applications support two (2) years of which in a supervisory role.
Certifications, Licenses, or Registration Required : N / A
Preferred Qualifications : Epic clinical certifications / accreditations, Clinical practice licensure (nursing, physician or clinical licensure), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMSS), or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMMSS) a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Comprehensive knowledge of Epic healthcare clinical and revenue cycle applications. Skilled in identifying system issues, evaluating user needs, and implementing solutions. Proficient in computer systems, programming logic, and current healthcare IT trends. Experienced in planning, developing, testing, and troubleshooting complex systems. Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate teams while staying current with emerging technologies and best practices. The role requires a forward-thinking leader who can drive technology innovation in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment while ensuring the organization's clinical systems remain at the forefront of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
