Advantra is partnering with a leading energy utility to hire a Customer / 1 Billing Business Analyst to support business analysis and process optimization for enterprise billing systems. This role focuses on requirements gathering, billing workflow validation, and coordination between business and technical teams.
About the role
You will analyze and document business processes, system requirements, and functional gaps within the Customer / 1 billing environment. The role includes collaborating with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure accurate billing, compliance, and system stability across the utility platform.
Responsibilities
Gather and document business and functional requirements for billing systems.
Analyze Customer / 1 workflows and identify areas for process improvement.
Collaborate with business users to define billing rules, rates, and validation logic.
Work with developers and testers to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
Support UAT planning, test case review, and post-deployment validation.
Manage issue tracking and coordinate resolution with cross-functional teams.
Prepare detailed functional specifications and mapping documents.
Ensure all deliverables meet compliance and operational standards.
Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs with business stakeholders.
Core requirements
5+ years of business analysis experience in utility or energy billing systems.
Strong hands-on experience with Customer / 1 (C1) platform.
Deep understanding of utility billing processes, rates, and data flows.
Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, and process documentation.
Strong SQL skills for data validation and analysis.
Proven ability to collaborate with QA and development teams.
Familiarity with Agile and hybrid project delivery models.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently in hybrid or remote environments.
Nice to have
Experience in system upgrades or C1 migration projects.
Exposure to automation or analytics tools for billing insights.
Knowledge of utility regulatory and compliance requirements.
Experience with data integration between Customer / 1 and ERP or CRM systems.
