Summary
The Analyst - Vehicle Logistics supports all functions of the Vehicle Logistics department, with an emphasis on trucking operations out of railheads. Employee is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all vehicles shipped to and out of rail facilities, ensuring cars are delivered in an expeditious manner as well as damage free.
This position will work with our rail and trucking vendors daily and guarantee all EDI data transmissions are received timely and accurate. They will work to resolve all vendor and customer issues related to claims and track claims data trends, providing valuable analysis to help improve our ITR / Claims process.
Responsibilities
- Execution of Vehicle Logistics Trucking Operations at Rail Facilities
Monitor the daily dwell time of vehicles at the railheads, with a strong emphasis on ensuring vehicles are shipped out within two business days after unloading
Request shipment reports and ETAs from trucking vendors to report to our customersCommunicate with the trucking vendors on any potential dealer and customer requested holds. Will be the liaison between the customers, dealers, and transportation vendors. They will make certain all parties involved are well-informed and up to date with any new information.Communicate with the customers and transportation partners on any potential Force Majeure related eventsMonitor inbound railcars into rail ramps to ensure trucking vendors have sufficient capacity to manage the incoming volumeTake any necessary actions at port level to halt further shipments when needed and re-direct these rail units to truck directProvide trucking vendors with all necessary information they require to ensure timely shipment of vehicles. This includes but is not limited to rail pipeline reports, on ground inventory reports, future allocation forecasts, and Dealer STI / Weekend delivery listsLiase with Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia Sales Regions and our transportation partners to ensure organizational successTrack Delivery Record Status of vehicles shipping from rail ramps to ensure vehicles are physically delivered and electronic records are submitted in timely mannerIn Transit Repairs and Claims ManagementQuickly identify any damaged / in-op vehicles at the railheads and work to ensure timely repair and delivery upon discovery
Request for and review all damage reports, estimates, and supplements received and ensure accuracy of the reportsNotify customer / regions of all damages to ensure draft clocks are pushed out in a timely mannerSend notifications to Claims to request DIT Surveys and create the claim in ITMSSend notifications to Claims to request supplemental surveys and request revisions to survey reportsRequest re-classifications when neededWork with KHS to manage on-site repairs of vehicles at approved sitesEnsure invoices are pushed through to the Claims Department for processingMake arrangements for Roadside Moves to and from the ITR facility and ports / rail rampsFollow up on the status of Roadside Moves to ensure there are no delaysInvestigate potential roadside damages and ensure corrective actions are takenVendor Delivery Record Submissions and Miscellaneous ProjectsEnsure all EDI files received from vendors are received in a timely manner as well as validated for correctness
Assist with Special Moves with any support as needed (B.R.A.K.E.S, Damage, Shuttles, Auto Shows, Cross-Shipments, Etc.)Set up Backup Carrier Moves when necessary at the railheadsCreate ad hoc reports for management when requestedOther duties as assignedCompensation
