Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg Acute Care position in Colorado requiring a CO or compact RN license and 2 years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an adult Med-Surg Acute Care / Observation Unit within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes post-ortho surgery, hybrid cath lab procedures, and acute / chronic illnesses
  • 12-hour day shifts with weekend rotation required
  • Participation in the call rotation required, with one call shift every two weeks as requested based on staffing needs
  • Requires care for medical, surgical, and telemetry cases
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating patient care with focus on critical disease states
  • Expected to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Facility offers remodeled, furnished studio and one-bedroom apartments for traveler housing within close proximity to the hospital
  • Environment supports a growing census due to seasonal surgical volume
  • No COVID-19 vaccination requirement specified

    • Requirements

  • Active CO or compact RN license in hand
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in acute care, med / surg, or telemetry
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Proof of current flu vaccine is required with no exemptions accepted
  • Permanent address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
