Pastry Cook

Loreto is looking for a Pastry Cook to join the team! We’re an upscale-casual Mexican seafood restaurant that specializes in seafood dishes inspired by the fresh ingredients from the Baja coast. We are a full bar restaurant with specialty cocktails and a curated wine selection. Mariscos Za Za Zá is our counter-service lunch concept at the same location.

We’re currently prioritizing applicants with open dinner availability, weekends open a must.

Responsibilities :

• Support Executive Chef in prepping, making, and plating pastry menu items
• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides according to standards
• Understand and apply the correct use of kitchen equipment with respect to safety and maintenance
• Ensure pastry items are made and maintained to highest quality to serve to guests
• Responsible for pastry dish presentation at pastry expo
• Support Executive Chef with pastry inventory, and actively involved in maintaining and restocking of necessary ingredients / items
• Proficient with and adhere to food safety regulations
• Adhere to dress code policy in addition to following good personal hygiene habits
• Work with a sense of urgency
• Follow all guidelines in the Kitchen Manual

Qualifications :

Valid Food Handler’s certificate preferred

2+ years work experience in fine dining and / or high-volume establishment preferred.

1+ year of work experience with pastry in a high volume restaurant or bakery preferred.

Be comfortable with repetitive motions such as walking, bending and standing during your scheduled shift.

Be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.

Compensation :

$18 - $20 hourly wage based on experience

Estimated additional tips around $20-50+ a week. Tip amounts are not guaranteed and are dependent on hours worked and daily business.
