Government Operations Consultant II
The Government Operations Consultant II is a member of the Bureau of One Stop and Program Support, Grants and Special Initiatives team of the Division of Workforce Services. This is a professional position performing highly responsible technical, consultative, and administrative work, administering and supporting special Federal and State-funded workforce projects. The incumbent in this position is expected to function with a great deal of independence and a high quality of organizational skills. The position holds several major areas of responsibility.
Your specific responsibilities include : assisting in initiatives and activities related to special populations, providing direction, guidance, and technical assistance to Florida Local Workforce Development Boards and other partners regarding the successful implementation of special projects funded by the Department, assisting with coordinating required activities for assigned projects, conducting research of federal and state laws, statutes, regulations, and other governing authorities to develop, review and update programmatic policies, procedures, and guidelines, providing assistance to management and staff in the development, management, and operation of assigned workforce programs, and writing, developing, and managing grant awards, contracts, memoranda of understanding, and interagency agreements for assigned projects.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include : ability to work independently, knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis, knowledge of basic management principles and practices, ability to utilize problem solving techniques, ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials, ability to interpret complex state and federal laws, regulations, guidelines, and requirements, ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, ability to build strong interpersonal relationships, ability to make oral presentations to workforce partners, and proficiency with Microsoft products : Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications include a Level 2 security background screening, duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department, and limited travel may be required and must provide own transportation. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree (or higher) or two years of equivalent relevant work experience, experience researching federal or state law, regulations, or other governing authorities to update policies, procedures, or guidelines, experience analyzing data to complete reports of program activities, experience developing and implementing workforce development programs, and experience developing and / or implementing grants.
Pay is $47,060.11 - $52,466.20 annually.
