Contract Attorney – Financial Services Litigation
About the Role
LHH has partnered with a great firm who is seeking a California-licensed attorney to join a high-volume litigation team supporting a major banking client. This contract role focuses on defending single-plaintiff financial services litigation matters related to loan disputes (note : this is not collections work).
You’ll be joining a project currently supported by another contractor and will be expected to quickly ramp up to managing a caseload of 40+ active matters .
Key Responsibilities :
Manage all aspects of litigation, including case strategy and execution
Attend court proceedings and handle settlement negotiations
Conduct depositions and maintain strong client communication
Collaborate with internal legal teams and external stakeholders
Candidate Requirements :
Active California Bar license
Located in California (no specific city required)
Minimum 3 years of litigation experience
Proven ability to manage high-volume caseloads
Experience in financial services litigation is strongly preferred
Must be comfortable with :
Case management
Court appearances
Negotiating settlements
Conducting depositions
Communicating directly with clients
Trial experience is not required
