Role Summary

Flowserve is looking for a Procurement Process Specialist who will be responsible for executing strategic and operational purchasing activities to support the company's production, projects, and service operations. This role focuses on developing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The Procurement Specialist plays a key role in driving on-time delivery, optimizing inventory, and contributing to overall supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities Include

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to Purchasing staff, demonstrating leadership in alignment with Materials Management objectives and providing leadership in absence of Materials Manager as required to ensure operational continuity.
  • Drive process and inventory improvement initiatives by leveraging new tools and technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and visibility across the supply chain.
  • Proactively engage and collaborate with business stakeholders, to solve operational issues and problems related to Procurement operations
  • Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies and sourcing plans that align with company objectives and support business needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand material requirements, forecast demand, and manage procurement schedules.
  • Review existing policies and processes to ensure they are compliant and fit for purpose in providing exceptional customer service and accurately record and track procurement and payment processing.
  • Leads the effectiveness of the processes through identification of areas for continuous improvement, providing input and information to achieve problem resolution.
  • Monitor supplier performance, conduct evaluations, and maintain preferred supplier relationships.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects across procurement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues, including invoice discrepancies, delivery delays, and quality concerns.
  • Provide support in the tracking, reporting, and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) and department objectives.
  • Escalates issues which cannot be resolved by the team / function to the Regional and or Global Procurement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required, proven ability for close attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills with a focus on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems (SAP or similar ERP).
  • Solid understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with exposure to Lean or Six Sigma practices preferred.

    Previous manufacturing experience
