Job description

Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I of the School Fiscal Service Division (SFSD), the Information Technology Specialist I is responsible for managing the information technology (IT) solutions of SFSD, specifically the Integrated Apportionment System (IAS), which includes the Principal Apportionment Data Collection (PADC) Web-based and the Apportionment applications. This position is the project lead on the update to the new Apportionment Application including coordination with contractor, current IT team and SFSD leadership.

Duties include (but are not limited to) :

  • Act as the IT Project Manager in the School Fiscal Services Division and manage, implement and support the transfer of the new Apportionment Application update. Work with Technology Services Division (TSD), Administrators and Managers to prepare and oversee work plans to ensure successful transition from existing application to the updated application. Along with the other IT staff, ensure IT systems are fully tested for timely deployment of both desktop and web-based applications. Assist with identifying technical solutions to improve functionality and user interface based on system requirements. Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements, verbally and / or through written documentation to TSD and management.
  • Analyze, develop and document business and technical requirements for current and future IT solutions with in SFSD.
  • Complete required training to develop skills necessary to program in updated Apportionment Application.
  • Keep current with industry trends and new technologies, by reviewing technical literature and performing independent research.

Personal Leave Program 2025

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary range(s) shown on this job posting does not reflect the salary reduction.
