Teller - Spanish Speaking

Teller Position

Responsible for providing a variety of paying and receiving functions for members in person, via phone, and through the mail including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier's checks, traveler's checks, money orders and cash advances. Balances each day's transactions and verifies cash totals. Performs a broad variety of member services functions such as opening and closing accounts, renewing certificates, assist members with bookkeeping and checking account problems.

Answers member's questions regarding Credit Union services provided and performs a variety of account maintenance. Actively cross-sells Credit Union services. Performs specific assigned side-jobs, including various clerical and receptionist functions and assists other Service Representatives with duties as required. Serves members promptly and professionally.

Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions :

• Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.
• Receives deposits and loan payments.
• Processes cash advances, traveler's checks, cashier's checks, money orders, bank to bank wires, Western Union wires, and Federal tax deposits.
• Disburses cash or check withdrawals.
• Processes transfers.
• Verifies transactions. Monitors deposit amounts, and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability. Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly.
• Balances daily transactions and verifies cash totals. Investigates and resolves out-of-balance conditions.
• Processes "bank by mail" transactions.

Qualifications

Training / Education / Certification : High school graduate or equivalent.

Required Knowledge : Solid understanding of Credit Union operations. The ability to speak Spanish fluently is required.

Experience Required : Customer service or cashiering experience helpful.

Skills / Abilities : Excellent communication skills and willingness to assist others. Professional appearance, dress, and attitude. Solid math skills. Ability to operate related computer applications. Good typing skills.
