Position Summary

Under general supervision by Operations leadership the HVAC Technician I performs advanced journey level and leadwork duties in the technical operation maintenance and repair of various HVAC / R electrical plumbing and auxiliary systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose a variety of MEP systems in a widely dispersed building.

This role pays an hourly rate of $25.00-$28.00

About the Venue

This position is based at our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center . The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD) is one of the largest convention centers in the nation. Every year it welcomes over a million visitors attending major national and international conventions meetings concerts athletic competitions auto shows and more. Located in the heart of downtown Dallas the KBHCCD has been and continues to be a fixture in the Dallas skyline offering 1 million square feet of exhibit space three ballrooms 88 meeting rooms 1750-seat theater and a 9816-seat arena. The award-winning facility is connected to a 1001-room hotel via skybridge and is adjacent to two Vertiport landing pads.

Responsibilities

• Regularly monitor and adjust building automation controls to achieve optimum comfort and energy savings.
• Schedule and monitor building automation to include HVAC and lighting systems.
• Understand base level standard OSHA practices. Examples include lock-out / tag-out MSDS confined entry bloodborne pathogens etc.
• Understand how to reset different pieces of equipment. This includes chillers VFDs air handlers boilers

Know how to change air filters and belts

Inspects dismantles repairs and reassembles equipment as directed. Completes tests for chemical control of boiler water cooling water and condensate.
